- In a statement released by NSCIA Secretary General Professor Is-Haq Oloyede on Saturday, the Council encouraged Muslims to look for the new moon in Shoval on the 29th day of Ramadan.

The Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs of Nigeria (NSCIA), led by Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, announced that the fasting could be extended until March 30, 2025, as the moon indicates that the end of Ramadan has not been observed in Nigeria.
In a statement issued on Saturday, NSCIA Secretary General Professor Is-Haq Oloyede called on Muslims to look for Shawwal Crescent on the 29th day of Ramadan.
If the moon is seen after the proper verification process, Sudan will officially announce Sunday, March 30, 2025 as the first day of Shawwal and the celebration of Eid-El-Fitr.
Statement reading:
“If Muslims see the new moon in accordance with the moon’s aiming and verification standards, then his outstanding performance will declare Sunday, March 30, 2025 as Shawwal’s first place and Eid ul-Fitr.”
The news comes after Saudi Arabia announced Sunday, March 30, 2025 as Eid-el-Fitr.
