Niger State Governor Umaru Mohammed Bago imposed a curfew in Minna from 6pm to 6am in response to the recent wave of attacks and killings throughout the city.
The governor announced that the movement of commercial motorcycle and tricycle operators is now restricted between 6 p.m. and 6 a.m.
Bago made the announcement at a key stakeholder security meeting held at the Government Building with traditional rulers and heads of security agencies on Tuesday, April 22.
But he said medical emergencies are exempt from curfews.
Recall that Minna recently witnessed the revival of Thrills, Attacks and Kllings.
Governor Bago said the new measure is designed to curb the growing security challenges in the state capital.
The governor also directed the district, village and Ward Heads to start correctly recording the visitors’ domain names.
He warned that any house found hiding a suspected criminal or drug cartel will be demolished.
