The real reason why Governor Delta dumped APC’s PDP has emerged.
Nigeria News Nalin It was reported that former Senator James Manager, who represented the Delta Senate District and was the first president of the Delta State University PDP, shared why Governor Sheriff Oberevwori and several key leaders left the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) for the All-round Progressive Congress (APC).
The manager said the PDP faced serious internal problems after the key stakeholder meeting held at the Asaba Government Building and compared it with the deceased ship.
He explained that after a lot of discussion and consultation, the party leaders knew very well that staying in the PDP was no longer an option.
The manager recognized his personal connection with the party from the outset, but they said their decisions were made together, not individually.
He pointed to a recent meeting in Ibadan where the PDP governor ruled out any merger with other political parties, one of the reasons many members lost hope.
Only about 11 or 12 governors left, and the manager questioned how the PDP actually challenged the incumbent president in national elections.
He also criticized the ongoing leadership crisis in the PDP, especially the confusion currently in the position of state secretary.
The manager said the situation became embarrassing, with different people making contradictory claims without a clear direction.
He believes that the PDP faces challenges that have never been encountered before, and the party’s Delta State chapter can no longer continue to carry out what he calls the sunken ship.
