The chief of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Dele Momodu urged Nigerians to sell their property and move abroad to reconsider their priorities and stressed that there is financial stability and opportunity in their home country.
Naija News Momodu reportedly argued in a recent interview with the media personality Teju Babyface that people with Rs 3,000-4 crore in Nigeria can provide a comfortable life and make entrepreneurial spirit rather than struggle abroad.
Speaking about the grim reality of life overseas, Momodu points out that while living abroad may seem fascinating, the burden of paying bills and financial independence can quickly become overwhelming.
According to senior journalists, having Rs 3,000-4 crore in Nigeria should not make anyone feel poor because it is enough to build proper business.
He stressed that nowhere in the world provides perfect security, noting that 3,000 people were allegedly killed in New York in one day. He pointed out that despite such incidents, people have not given up on their country.
The 64-year-old also noted that the excitement of visiting families abroad often disappears when a person has to rent a house and deal with the expenses without support.
He said “If you have 300/400,000 in Nigeria and you think you are a poor person, I beg you, you are a lunatic. You have 300/400,000, you can’t build the right business in Nigeria. I beg you to think again. There is no perfect security anywhere.
“One day, 3,000 people were killed in New York. So the people of New York have not given up on their country. In fact, you can set your own security in Nigeria.
“The appeal of staying abroad is that when you’re on vacation, everyone welcomes you. You’re staying with your family in a free house. The day you take all your kids to another man’s house, he knows you’re not in a hurry to leave and you’ll see the difference.
“That day, the day you rented, that’s the trauma you’ll bring almost your life. Because you have to face the reality of paying your bills abroad now. And there’s no mercy, once your money is done, your life will disappear. No mercy. Just remember that Dele Momodu has no mercy abroad.”
