Award-winning actress, producer and director Funke Akindele will speak at the Withchude Live event on April 27.
Known for her outstanding career and record-breaking box office success, Funke will share her insights into her journey, resilience and the mindset behind her continuous reshaping in the entertainment industry.
Funke Akindele is the true force of Nollywood and has been a pioneer, constantly evolving in a highly competitive industry. When host Chude Jideonwo asked her how she managed to reshape herself, she replied: “First of all, it’s spiritual – it’s God’s grace, knowing herself, it’s primitive. I know when to stop, even if I don’t like them, I’m not caring, but I don’t want to.”
Apart from talent and grace, Fuss also believes that hard work is a key factor in success, emphasizing durability and effort to separate the best efforts from others.
“A lot of people want to do what I’m doing, but I’ve been telling them: To make you have a tough success, you need to work hard. Do dirty work,” she said.
Fink also shared a profound personal reflection on sadness and emotional resilience.
When Chude asked her how she managed to keep her heart, when many people struggled to deal with their emotions, she admitted: “I don’t allow myself to break down, which affected me after my mom died – my heart was in pain. It was necessary to deal with things and resume refreshing.”
For four consecutive years, Funke Akindele dominated the Nigerian box office, earning a hit on hits. When asked what promotes this consistency, she revealed: “I’m very interested in anything I’m doing. I’m an extremist; I’m a perfectionist.”
She also explains what inspired her to return to the box office after a long break, reaffirming her dedication to excellence.
