Ephesus Prayer – Ephesians 1:17-23 and 3:14-21 are powerful expressions of faith and hope in Jesus Christ. The prayers in Ephesians, specifically Ephesians 1:17-23 and Ephesians 3:14-21, are part of a letter written by the Apostle Paul to the early Christian church in the city of Ephesus.
These prayers express Paul’s deep spiritual longing for the believers in Ephesus.
In Ephesians 1:17-23, Paul prayed that the church would be able to grasp the vast power of God as evidenced in the resurrection and exaltation of Jesus Christ. He wanted believers to understand their spiritual heritage and to have hope and confidence in their calling.
In Ephesians 3:14-21, this prayer focuses on spiritual growth, maturity, and love. Paul prayed that the church would experience God’s abundant love and receive the power of the Holy Spirit to enable them to live according to God’s will.

The Ephesians prayed for themselves.
Heavenly Father, I come to You asking for the Spirit of wisdom and revelation so that I may know You better. Lord, open my eyes to the hope to which You have called me, the riches of Your glorious inheritance, and the incomparable greatness of Your power at work in my life through Christ.
Help me to live in the fullness of Your power—the power that raised Jesus from the dead and seated Him at Your right hand in heaven, far above all authority, power, and dominion. Lord, I thank You that Christ is the Head of the Church and that I am a part of His body, filled with His presence and purpose.
Heavenly Father, as I kneel before You, I ask You to strengthen me with power from the riches of Your glory, through Your Spirit, in my inner life. May Christ dwell in my heart through faith, and may my love be rooted and established. Lord, please help me understand how wide, long, high, and deep the love of Christ is.
Let me experience the abundance of Your love that transcends all knowledge, so that I can be filled with the abundance of God. Lord, I believe that You are able to do far more than I can ask or imagine based on Your power at work in me. Father, to you be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus, throughout all ages, forever and ever. Amen.
