    • Experienced Nollywood actress Bimbo Akintola discusses polygamy in her speech with B Podcast.
    • She believes that polygamy is both a cultural practice and a practical solution to modern society.
    • Akintola emphasized “male shortage”, which is why women consider sharing their husbands.

Polygamy returned to public discussion when veteran Nollywood actress Bimbo Akintola made a recent appearance with the B Podcast.

The 55-year-old actress describes polygamy not only as cultural, but also as practical in modern times. She believes that “the shortage of men” makes it wise for women to share their husbands.

Gistlover earlier reported that in another interview, Akintola revealed why she was still single and without children.

She looked back on her generation and explained that she was among many Yoruba families who practiced polygamy. She said its strengths and weaknesses in society have reached normalization.

    She said:

“Most Generation X, Yorubas, and even our parents have two or three wives. This is what we saw when we grew up.”

The actress went on to share a personal example of how some women are willing to accept the idea. She recalls a woman who faces her husband’s bedroom and drives in a stronger bedroom and finds another wife in person just to keep her peace.

According to Akintola, not every marriage is forced to force women – some people choose it themselves.

She stressed that if women want a man to continue to work on a wife’s future, the responsibility lies in how they raise their son.

    In her words:

“All these men we’re talking about, polygamy and cheating, are raised by someone. Raising your son to be that kind of man so that future women, your daughter, have such a man to marry.”
