Three other Nigerian girls were rescued from human trafficking in Ghana? NIDCOM

Nigerians from the Expatriate Commission (NIDCOM) have confirmed the rescue and repatriation of three other Nigerian girls trafficked to Ghana.

According to a statement signed by Abdur-Rahman Balogun, director of the media, public relations and agreement department, was identified as a sacred, favored and intelligent girl between the ages of 17 and 19, whose aunts lured prostitution, they deceived them in Ghana with promises of beneficial employment.

NIDCOM Chairman Hon spoke at the NIDCOM office in Lagos and then formally received the girl and handed over to the state agency for the person who prohibited trafficking in persons (NAPTIP). Abike Dabiri-Erewa condemned the ongoing silence of traffickers around him.

“United trafficking will not end until we start naming and humiliating this perpetrator of modern slavery,” Dabiri-Erewa said.

She expressed her gratitude to Chief Callistus Elozieuwa, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Nido Ghana, as he continued to work with the Ghana security agency to rescue the victims. She also praised the consular support of the Nigerian Embassy in Ghana, where the first lady, Mrs. Oluremi Tinubu, promoted the girl’s transport back to Nigeria.

According to the statement, 169 Nigerians have been repatriated from Ghana in recent months, an ongoing threat posed by human trafficking networks.

The rescued girls from Bayelsa and Ebony are currently being detained in New York City for analysis and rehabilitation.
