
The three were arraigned in the AWKA High Court in Anambra state in connection with the disappearance of billionaire businessman Benjamin ezemma.
Ezemma, co-founder of Anambra Dubai Estate, has been missing since November 12, 2024.
Defendant, regarding the identity of Jeff Paper and David Chahaka and was charged based on the number of suit numbers Awum Awum Awum Awum Awk/625.
In court lawsuits, two charges accused Zemma of conspiracy to abduct and subsequently kidnapped.
They all pleaded not guilty before Chairman Judge Ike Ogu.
Ozo Nweke is a prominent figure in AWKA, represented by senior advocates of Alex Ajesieme, Nigeria (SAN), while Ol Udemezue and Ao Onyekachi represent the second and third defendants, respectively.
The deputy director of the Ministry of Justice sued the case.
The first defendants were filed from a hospital in Enugu, while the second defendant has been in custody since November 2024.
The third defendant still exists.
The prosecution requires that a private doctor be allowed to assess the health of the first defendant, while the lawyer of the second defendant seeks bail, which the prosecution objected.
Justice Ike Ogu ruled to maintain the status quo – allowing the first and third defendants to remain free while the second defendant was detained.
The case was adjourned until March 7, 2025, and a full hearing was held.
