The Lagos-Ibadan Expressway increased dramatically along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway on Tuesday night after the explosion of the Aotdora Bridge axis.
Multiple videos shared on X captured the thick fire at the explosion site around 7 p.m.
Although the exact reason is unclear, some X users speculate that gasoline tankers are involved.

Confirm this incident, a spokesperson for the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (Lasema), Nosa OkunborIn a brief WhatsApp message, the emergency responders were already on the scene.
“Some kind of explosion. Waiting for preliminary reports. Lasema’s Tiger Response Team is at the location,” Okunbor told The Punch.
The Director of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Bureau provides updates in the statement, Margaret Adeseye explain: “The Lagos State Fire and Rescue Services Department is currently at about 20:00 hours, which is due to the tanker accident outward, Omor, Omor, Lagos fire.
“The registration number of the 30-ton DAF tanker was unknown, which led to the navigation of the Lagos-Ibadan highway in the accident, resulting in the ensuing explosion accompanied by the fireball in front of Redham Church. The ensuing fire spread rapidly to the church and adjacent bungalow buildings, as well as four different brands of vehicles as it would mitigate further losses.
“Despite fire operations ongoing, there are no records of casualties and will be further updated later.”
