    TikToker is held in jail for defamation of Ondo FRSC officials

    On Thursday, the Akure Judicial Court of the Ondo District Court ordered Emmanuel Ajibade, a Tiktok content creator at the Olokuta Correctional Center, a chapter charge of cyberbullying federal road safety forces (FRSC) officials.

    Police brought Ajibade to court on allegedly suspected of committing a crime on April 24, 2025.

    Oniyere claims Ajibade uses Tiktok account “Checkers69” to spread false information designed to “cause troubles, inconveniences, dangers, insults and criminal slander”. He said the shared content led to “intimidation, hatred and hatred, illness and unnecessary anxiety” by FRSC official Ibitoye Samuel.

    The prosecutor noted that the charges under section 27(b) of the Cyber ​​Crime (Prohibition and Prevention) Act and section 27(b) and section 24(b) of the Federal Law of Nigeria, 2015. He asked the court to be remanded in custody to allow further investigation of the alleged crime.

    Defense attorney Af Awala asked the court to allow him to file an anti-devote against the police application. In her ruling, Chief Magistrate Odenusi-Fadeyi said: “I listened to the affidavits and counterattacks from the prosecutor and defense attorneys.”

    She ruled: “I hereby order the defendant to be remanded in Olokuta Correctional Centre, awaiting legal advice from the DPP.” Ajibade will continue to be detained until June 27, 2025.
