Former National Democratic Vice-President Bode George strongly criticized Hezhou’s recent state of emergency announcements against River State, calling it a flagrant violation of the constitutional body.

George reacted to the announcement, saying the “absolute end of the world” move stressed that it was “totally disrespectful of the authority of the composition.”

He continues “The constitution is viciously violated, and we cannot remain silent about this recklessness of the Supreme Order.”

Naija News It was reported that George expressed doubts about the reasons behind the declaration and asked, “What is Governor Forbala?

George raised further concerns about the legitimacy of the president’s action, questioning whether Tinob had been approved by the National Assembly before the airing.

“Has he received approval from the National Assembly before the broadcast?” George asked, skeptical of the legitimacy and justification behind the emergency.

The former PDP leader also compared the previous political crisis in Nigeria, comparing the situation in the River State to events in 1962 and 1983, taking similar actions in the face of political unrest.

He suggested that this might be a “dress” of what Tinubu and APC plan to do in 2027.

“That’s exactly how it started in 1962 and 1983.” George pointed out, adding that “This is a rehearsal of what Tinubu wants to do in 2027. APC hopes to control all states through unconstitutional means.”

George also questioned the timing and political motivation behind the decision. He pointed to the actions leading up to the declaration, including the invitation from the Niger Delta leaders last week, including Diete-Spiff. “Why were Diete-Spiff and Niger Delta leaders invited last week if he had planned this?” George asked.

The PDP firms warn that the president’s actions are dangerously reminiscent of authoritarian rule, inquiring, “Is Tinubu now a civilian dictator?”
