    Tinubu appoints Nigerian delegation to the funeral of Pope Francis (full list)

    President Tinob has appointed a delegation of Nigeria to attend the funeral of Francis of the Vatican Pope.

    Nigeria News Nalin President Bola Ahmed Tinubu announced a five-member delegation that will represent Nigeria at the funeral of Pope Francis, which will be held in the Vatican city this Saturday, the report said.

    Bayo Onanuga, the delegation will be led by the Senate President, according to a statement by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy. Godswill Akpabio.

    Joined Akpabio is the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Ambassador Bianca is located in echu; Archbishop, President of the Nigerian Catholic Bishops’ Conference Lucius Iwjuru Ugurji;bishop Matthew Hassan Kukah Diocese of Sokoto; and Archbishop Ayua Ka’obama Abuja Diocese.

    “The delegation will formally send a letter to convey President Tinob’s sympathy and condolences to Pope Francis’s representative head of the Vatican,” the statement stated.

    Earlier Monday, President Tinob released a message of condolences, calling the late pope “the humble servant of God, the unremitting efforts of the poor, and the guidance lamp for millions.”

    Pope Francis, born Jorge Mario Bergoglio In 1936, he became the first pope in Latin America in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

    Pope Francis He died on April 21, 2025 at the age of 88, second only to the Easter Sunday celebrations.
