Tinubu arrives in Japan to attend the 9th Tokyo International African Development Conference

Foreign Minister Ambassador Yusuf Tugga is with the President. TICAD9 will be held tomorrow to Friday after the last one in Tunisia in 2022. The theme of the conference is: “Creating innovative solutions with Africa” will focus on accelerating the economic transformation of Africa through private investment, innovation and stronger institutions. The president plans to attend plenary meetings, hold bilateral talks with world leaders, and engage with Japanese business executives, including companies that have existing or potential investments in Nigeria.

TICAD was established by the Japanese government in 1993 and was co-chaired by the United Nations, the United Nations Development Program, the African Union Commission (AUC) and the World Bank. Holding every three years, it alternates between Japan and African host countries. At the end of Tika 9, the president will travel to Brazil for a state visit from August 24 to 25 at the invitation of Luiz Inácio Lulada Silva. His activities in Brazil will include bilateral discussions with the host, participation in the Nigeria-Brazil Business Forum and the signing of an agreement and a memorandum of understanding (MOU) (MOU) to deepen economic cooperation.
