President Bola Tinubu has signed the appropriations bill for 2025 at $54.99 trillion. The signing ceremony was held on Friday at the Presidential Villa of Abuja, before leaders of the National Assembly and other senior government officials.
The 2025 budget was adopted by two parliaments of the National Assembly on February 13, an increase of 99.96% from the 2024 USD 27.5 trillion budget.
The budget breakdown shows that the total expenditure is 54.99 trillion yuan and allocated statutory transfers, recurring expenses, capital expenditures and debt services.

The budget details are as follows:
Total expenditure: ₦54.99 trillion
Legal transfer: ₦3.65 trillion
Recurring (non-DEBT) expenditure: ₦13.64 trillion
Capital expenditure: ₦23.96 trillion
Debt Services: ₦14.32 trillion
