- Onanuga argued that Tinubu’s gesture celebrated excellence and national pride, comparing it to the 150 million awards awarded by the winner of Big Brother Naija.

Presidential spokesman Bayo Onanuga defended President Bola Tinubu’s rewards following the 2024 WAFCON victory.
It was the reception of the Super Falcons who won the victory in the Presidential Villa at President Tinubu, where he awarded each player and directed the national honors, respectively, for $100,000 and $50,000, respectively, as well as the three-bedroom apartment of Abuja’s new Hope Housing.
Onanuga argued in an article about X that Tinubu’s gesture celebrates excellence and national pride, comparing it to the 150 million awards awarded by the winner of Big Brother Naija.
“When you remember that the organizer of Bbnaija reality show Multichoice offered the award ₦150 million prize, you wonder why some Nigerians don’t have any recognition of President Tinubu’s award for the Super Falcon,” he wrote. “President Tinob rewards excellence, creativity, hard work, football art and the eternal Nigerian spirit.”
