Ime Udoka has earned the highest NBA salary in NBA history after agreeing to reach a new deal with the club.
Coach Udoka reportedly agreed to a long-term extension with the Rockets, which would make him one of the highest-paid coaches in the NBA. However, there is no news about the exact amount he will receive from next season.
He joined the Rockets after being suspended in the 2023-24 season and eventually fired by the Boston Celtics.
He led them to a 41-41 record in the first year of the team. Last season, he increased their winning total by 11 with a 52-30 record, ranking second in the Western Conference, the best since his 2018-19 campaign.
The decision to expand Udoka is the main decision for Rockets’ aggressive off-season, who recently re-signed center Steven Adams for a three-year, $39 million deal. They are still guarding Fred Vanvleet’s $44.9 million team option and will not make the final decision until June 29.
