A trans woman drowned while people filmed and refused to save her.
According to Amnesty International, Sara Millerey González is R@Ped, who broke her arm and leg and was then thrown into the Columbia River.
On April 4, her body was found in the canyon of La García, winding through the Playa Rica community in Bella.
Officials believe she was beaten by locals and may have connections with the criminal gang.
Sara’s mother, Sandra Borja, received a call from her sister about 3 p.m., telling her that her daughter was drowning in a stream.
She found Sarah clutching the branches tightly, and the muddy waters of the river fell on her back.

A group of locals did not help, but were filming her cell phone to help.
Those filming told passersby not to help Sara tells El Colombiano.
“Some people stood there, and their cell phones recorded what was going on with her and they said they didn’t help her,” they recalled.
“So, worry about fear of being shot. It’s necessary for the police to intervene.”
Sara Drowning’s videos are all the rage on social media. The clip appears to show someone in muddy water at the knee high, with a noticeable injury to his face, spreading around, unable to move his arms.
“My first reaction was to throw myself into the river,” Sandra, the victim’s mother, told El País.
“I shouted to her, ‘Dear, my gratitude, hold on, grab that branch!'”
“Mom, I’m going to die,” Sarah told Sandra.
Sara was rescued by firefighters who took her to La María Hospital in central Belo, but the next day she developed a high temperature treatment. Her lungs were pierced and she suffered two cardiac arrests.
She is 32 years old. Attend her funeral on April 8.

The government has provided pesos (about £8,800) to get information about Sara’s DE@Th.
President Gustavo Petro describes Sara’s de@Th as “fascism”.
He posted on X: “I’m very critical of Nazism. I’m very clear that fascism is the violence elimination of human differences: politics, religion, race, sexual freedom.”
“What happened to Bello is called fascism because there are Nazis in Colombia.”
“She is the victim of a cruel and hateful act,” Belo Mayor Lorena González Ospina said on X.

Ospina said the video of Sarah fighting for her life highlights the “indifference” of some people to trans life.
“We can’t keep transphobia silent,” she said.
