Chelsea has officially announced their first player signing in the transfer window in June 2025.
Chelsea Football Club officially announced the signing of Sporting CP to Dário Essugo, which made him the first player signing in the transfer window in June 2025.
The highly rated midfielder, who was on loan for Las Palmas in Las Palmas, signed a long-term contract with the Blues until 2033.
Essugo is also an international Portugal under 21 years old and is widely regarded as one of the smartest young talents in his country.

The 19-year-old was promoted to the sporting academy and made headlines in March 2021 when he became the youngest player ever to play in the club’s senior team and made his debut in the 16-year-old and 6-day match against Vitoria de Guimaraes.
As the club continues to invest in emerging talent strategies, Essugo’s arrival adds depth and youth to Chelsea’s midfield.
