President Donald Trump said Charlie Kirk was shot dead and died Wednesday at an event at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah.
Utah House Speaker Mike Schultz said earlier that Kirk’s death was confirmed by Utah law enforcement officers.
Deseret News reporters saw Kirk filming during a Q&A with students in the live report. About two minutes after the interview, gunfire rang and Kirk seemed to be hit in his neck.
