U.S. President Donald Trump shared details of his phone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Tuesday.
Trump described Tuesday’s discussion as focusing on the Russian-Ukrainian war and being “very good and productive.”
Trump confirmed in a post about the Truth Society that they agreed to “stop all energy and infrastructure immediately.”
The leaders also proposed an understanding to quickly work towards a full ceasefire to end “this very terrible war.”
“If I were president, this war would never begin!” Trump added.
“There are discussions on many elements of a peace contract, including the fact that thousands of soldiers were killed, and both President Putin and Zelensky wanted to see this fact.
“This process is now full of power and effect, and hopefully for humanity, we will get the job done!” the US president wrote.
