Nigerian singer and entertainer Kokopi has criticized Pele’s recent suicide attempt, suggesting the TikTok star’s actions were driven by love and comparing it to Romeo’s passion.
The incident occurred during a TikTok live broadcast in which Peller appeared emotional while driving his newly purchased Mercedes-Benz. There were reports that he cried, became emotional and threatened to end his life during the live broadcast.
According to reports, the situation escalated shortly after and Peller lost control of the vehicle and crashed the car. Later footage captured the aftermath, showing bystanders taking him to a nearby hospital for treatment.
The incident went viral on social media, attracting responses from fans, influencers and concerned Nigerians.
Responding to the incident, Kokopi expressed disappointment in Peller’s behavior and questioned whether his friend provided guidance or advice. He particularly wanted to know if close associates like Sabalo had tried to intervene or warn him.
He points out that many men experience heartbreak, shed a few tears, and eventually move on without resorting to self-harm. Kokopi condemned Peller for trying to take his own life over his breakup with girlfriend Jarvis, calling the behavior unacceptable.
Men who show excessive emotional vulnerability may lose respect from their partners, who may view them as weak, he added. Kokopi concluded by advising Peller to act responsibly, stressing that too much attention or care can sometimes prompt partners to consider separation.
