The chief of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) chief Dele Momodu proposed that Senate President Godswill Akpabio is no longer the same person he once was Governor Akwa Ibom.
Momodu, who spoke in a channel television interview on Monday, said that although they never closed, he admired what Akpabio did as governor of the people of the state, but Akpabio, who is now Nigeria’s Senate president, was afraid.
In the meantime, the current legislator was in the National Assembly under Senator Akpabio’s Rubber Pictures National Assembly, Momodu believed that if President Bola Tinubu moved for this, federal lawmakers would promptly approve the third term.
The senior journalist suggested that Akpabio is likely to be afraid of the presidency, adding that the president of Nigeria is a powerful institution.
Kogi State Governor Usman Ododo has ordered a ban on all forms of unauthorized gatherings and public gatherings in the state until further notice.
Governor Ododo also suspended all fishing in local government areas of the state.
The Information and Communications Commissioner announced the decision in a statement Monday, which Kingsley Fanwo revealed was a proactive step to curb security threats that affect the state’s stability.
The state government also announced that as the government has revealed that some people plan to enter Kogi State as security personnel, anyone with a safety convoy must obtain permission from Kogi State Command for the deployment of services.

President Bola Tinubu has approved the extension of Kemi Nandap’s tenure as auditor-general of the Nigerian Immigration Agency (NIS) until December 31, 2026.
Nandap joined NIS on October 9, 1989 and was appointed Auditor General on March 1, 2024. Her initial term is scheduled to end on August 31, 2025. However, with this new extension, she will continue to hold leadership positions.
In a statement on information and strategy by the President’s Special Adviser, Tinubu’s Bayo Onanuga praised Nandap’s exemplary leadership and improvements in key areas such as border management, immigration modernization and national security under her watch.
The statement highlights the positive changes that have taken place in NIS since the appointment of Nandap and points to her leadership having made significant progress in the service’s core mission.
President Tinob praised Nandap’s dedication and urged her to continue to focus on strategic priorities that align with the government’s new hope agenda.
The President reiterated his commitment to supporting the NIS mission to protect Nigeria’s borders and ensure safe, legal immigration.

Momodu believes that it is meaningless to recall allegations of sexual harassment by Senator Natasha against Akpabio.
The PDP chief weighed the confrontation between Natasha and Akpabio, warning that the Senate president may eventually find himself at the end of a failure, except for his settlement with the suspended Senator Kogi.
Chief Momodu spoke in a channel television interview on Monday, saying that everything Akpabio did would surface in the smoke, only he settled in a friendly manner with Natasha.
