
The FCT Police Command foiled an armed robbery attack on the Jahi II Royal Court estate in Abuja and arrested two suspects in the process.
The suspects were identified as Rabiu Jubril and Ibrahim Isa, two resident of the mountaintop garage, Jahi, both attacked the estate with weapons and tried to try the vehicle before the operators of the FCT Police Command arrived at the scene.
FCT Police spokesman SP Josephine Adeh said the incident was confirmed.
“On March 27, 2025, at about 3:20 am, the agents of the Mabushi Division responded quickly to a distress call, reporting on the ongoing robbery at the Royal Court Estate of Jahi II. Upon arrival at the scene, police armed personnel were hit by gun duels by homeless men, but the suspect was shot by higher fire pos by police and drivers and was shot by long-range shooting.
Adeh further noted that a hot pursuit followed, leading to the arrest of two suspects, residents of Tipper Garage, two suspects.
She added that police recovered two locally made guns. Three suspicious stolen vehicles: Black Toyota Matrix (Reg. No.NBS 348 CP), Black Toyota Venza (Reg. No.ABJ105 AV), and Gray Lexus IS350 (Reg. Reg. RSH295 CB).
In addition, electronic devices were recovered from the suspects, including two MacBook Pro laptops, a Lenovo laptop, an iPad, a PS4 gaming machine, a PS4 gaming machine, a Canon IP1224 camera and a drone camera.
Sp Adeh added: “The suspect is currently in custody and will be prosecuted in court after the investigation is concluded.”
Meanwhile, FCT Commander Commissioner CP Ajao Adewale urged residents to take active safety measures, especially by installing tracking equipment in their vehicles, as this greatly improves recovery efforts in the unfortunate burglary or robbery incident.
