
Two boys, aged 16 and 12, drowned in a separate river in the Delta State.
The 16-year-old reportedly drowned in a river in the Owhelogbo community in the northern local government area of Isoco on Wednesday.
The 12-year-old drowning occurred on Saturday, March 15 in the Ugbolokposo community, Isoko South LGA, although the details remained sketchy at press time.
Witnesses said Sylvester was suddenly pulled underwater and swam with his friends.
One of his friends raised the alarm and said the effort to save him proved to be abortion, prompting him to rush to seek help from the community.
Despite the urgent rescue work, Sylvester’s lifeless body resurfaced around 9 p.m.
His friends insisted that they were a great swimmer and expressed shock at the tragic event, noting that they had undoubtedly entered the river.
