
The Vatican announced on Tuesday, April 29 that two Catholic cardinals will not attend next week’s meeting to elect a new pope, to elect a new pope.
Although the Vatican did not name the absent cardinal, sources in the Archdiocese of Valencia confirmed to AFP that Cardinal Antonio CaƱizares, Cardinal Antonio CaƱizares, will not participate in the Archdiocese of Valencia for health reasons.
A total of 135 cardinals are eligible to vote in secret elections held at Sistine Church starting on May 7. This process has fallen into tradition and is expected to last for several days.
