
Two men died after a rocky landslide at an unauthorized mining site in Farin-Doki, Shiroro local government area, Niger State.
State Police Command spokesman Sp wasi’u Abiodun said the tragic incident occurred on Sunday, April 13, 2025.
The victims from Kano State University were reportedly identified as Buhari Kano and Mallam Tasiu, who were trapped in Kano State during the collapse.
Police agents from Elena’s subdivision and local residents responded quickly and carried out rescue work.
Unfortunately, neither of them was angry. After that, their bodies were deposited in Zumba Provincial Hospital for further examination.
Preliminary investigations show that miners were operating illegally on the site on the night before the incident.
A comprehensive investigation is underway to determine the exact circumstances that led to the collapse.
