Two female armed robbers and three accomplices arrested in South Africa

In a significant demonstration of swift action and effective cooperation, officials from the Johannesburg Metropolitan Police Department (JMPD) and members of the South African Police Department (SAPS) and private security successfully arrested five suspects suspected of robbery in Orange Grove.

The suspect, two women and three men were arrested on Sunday morning, March 2, 2025.

A male with obvious distress approached the officers while refueling at the BP filling station on Louis Botha Avenue at about 6:45 am on Sunday, March 2, 2025.

He told them he was robbed by five people in the Red Volkswagen Jetta at the intersection of 7th Street and Louis Botha Avenue.

The suspect stole his money and cell phone and even transferred the funds from his bank account to his own device. In response, the officer quickly took the victim away to identify the suspect and his vehicle.

After calling for additional support, they were able to find suspicious vehicles parked near Pick’n Pay in Bramley View.

Through effective coordination with Private Security, JMPD CCTV, Tactical Response Unit (TRU) and SAPS, the team entered the mall and successfully arrested all five suspects.

During the arrest, all stolen items belonging to the victim were recovered from the suspect.

They are accused of robbery and possession of stolen property and are currently being held in Norwood Saps, awaiting court appearance.
