
On March 5 today, two people were confirmed dead after a two-story building collapsed on Oriwu Street.
Another 14 have been rescued from the debris. The victims are all workers working on the scene. The cause of the crash cannot be determined immediately.
Lagos State Police spokesman CSP Benjamin Hudenyin confirmed the incident, saying the commander’s operators were immediately mobilized to the scene.
“Two people died. So far, a total of 14 people have been rescued and taken to Lagos Island General Hospital for treatment. Agents from the order are still on the ground to provide safety for ongoing rescue operations.”
