- Arnold described Omokri as a pathological liar and a shape-shifting mercenary and accused him of being extremely politically inconsistent, noting that he called Tinubu a drug lord and then called him Christ when he was appointed.
- The letter also included multiple personal accusations, including failing to attend his father’s funeral and abandoning his autistic son.

American preacher Mike Arnold has written a strongly worded open letter to the Nigerian Senate, urging lawmakers to reject the ambassadorial nomination of controversial social media influencer and former presidential aide Reno Omokri.
President Bola Tinubu recently forwarded Omokri’s name to confirm him as a non-career ambassador, a move that sparked widespread debate.
Arnold, who said he spent a lot of time in Nigeria, said Omokri was unfit for diplomatic service and a danger to the country.
“I’ve seen this man up close. He’s a threat to your country.” Arnold wrote in the letter circulating on social media.
The preacher made several serious accusations against Omokri, including:
- He was unable to attend his father’s funeral.
- Abandoned his autistic son in California.
- Accused of shielding a brother who allegedly raped a 15-year-old girl at church.
- Facing sexual harassment allegations against Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan during a State House event.
Arnold also accused Omokri of being extremely politically inconsistent, saying:
“He called Tinubu a drug lord and then called him Christ the moment the check was cashed,” “He screamed ‘Christian genocide’ under Buhari and then called it a hoax under Tinubu.”
Arnold described Omokri as a “pathological liar and shape-shifting mercenary” and warned that the former aide would switch allegiances should a higher bidder emerge.
“When a foreign government or lobby group offers Reno more money tomorrow than Abuja offers today, he will flip and sell out Nigeria just as he sold out his father, his son, his wife, his political allies, his beliefs and every principle he ever pretended to have,” the letter reads.
Arnold concluded by noting that confirming Omokri would reinforce negative stereotypes about Nigeria globally, predicting that Omokri would “embarrass” the country on the world stage within six months.
