In other news… A young Nigerian graduate broke down in tears and took to social media to share her anguish after her efforts to secure her preferred position through the unofficial ‘NYSC Plug’ system failed, resulting in her deployment to Borno State.

The emotional response reflects the anxieties faced by force members when assigned to states such as Borno, which are widely considered to have higher security risks and are unsafe for military personnel.

The incident highlights the mental stress that comes with mandatory service placement, as well as the notorious failure of the “NYSC Plug” system, which was designed to secure priority states but often resulted in unnecessary placements.

The viral video sparked mixed reactions online, with some users criticizing the New York State Commission’s system while others debated the sincerity of her tears and the concept of state responsibility.
