Former Senate Minority Leader Biodun Olujimi has called on Kogi Central Senator Natasha Akpoti-uduaghan to withdraw her 100 billion nit libel lawsuit against Senate President Godswill Akpabio.
Olujimi expressed concern about the escalation of the controversy between Akpoti-Uduaghan and Akpabio in an interview on Arise TV on Saturday.
Naija News Understanding the rift between the two senators began on February 20, when they started a heated debate over changes in seating arrangements during the plenary session.
On February 25, the Senate forwarded Akpoti-uduaghan to its Ethics, Privileges and Public Petition Committee for disciplinary review.
After that, Akpoti-uduaghan claimed that her trouble in the Senate began with her refusal to Akpabio’s sexual behavior, prompting her to file a defamation lawsuit against the Senate president.
Neck: Shower shop demand is “overwhelming”
However, Olujimi warned that the senator had too many demands for live broadcasts of her Senate investigation process.
She also said the Senate redistribution is normal, which shows that the matter should not be eliminated.
When Olujimi expressed support for the investigation of the allegations of Akpoti-uduaghan, he called Akpabio a person who often joked and articulated the situation.
“I want to say that in the 8th and 9th Senate, we never had such a thing (referring to the charges) and Senator Akpabio is one of us.
“They politely polite us (the female senators). We don’t have such things, and I haven’t heard anything from the rest of the senators yet.
“He (Akpabio) is kidding. He likes to make money from everything. He likes to make everything brighter. When you do that, you become very vulnerable.” She said.
“Women must not look emotionally unstable”
Olujimi further urged Akpoti-uduaghan to file a lawsuit against Akpabio, noting that female politicians must not look emotionally unstable in public disputes.
“Court case, I want to call on her to withdraw the case from the court. We don’t want women to look emotionally unstable.
“We also need to be strong enough to face the man. The court against the host is not there. I know she is injured, but she needs to deal with it better. I think this should be in court as quickly as possible.” She said.
