Otuoke, a 200-level chemical engineering student, reportedly flooded the N300 bet at Ekoli Creek in Yenagoa.
Punch reported that the incident occurred on Sunday morning, February 23, but the body has not yet been recovered and the name of the deceased is still unknown.
According to witnesses, the victim bets with some people who could swim on the river, but when he swims, he is underwater and has not surfaced since.
A student from a school who asked not to be named said:
“Yesterday morning, a 200-class chemical engineering student swam on the river with his alumni.
They all raised N300 for the shares. He dips while he is swimming, and hasn’t seen him since. So far, he still missed it. ”
School authorities and the State Police Command have not commented on the incident.
