Qualified candidates for the University of Groningen Talent Grant
Are you a non-EU/EEA student from Mexico, Russia, China, India, Brazil or Indonesia starting a Master’s degree in the Faculty of Arts? If so, you may be eligible for the University of Groningen Faculty of Arts OTS/Talent Bursary, a partial scholarship that can help fund your studies.
For whom?
Students from Mexico, Russia, China, India, Brazil, or Indonesia who have been admitted to one of the Faculty of Arts’ master’s programs.
Funding information:
The Talent Grant covers the cost of study at the University of Groningen and is paid in monthly installments. In 2020-2021, the monthly installment will be €450 per month.
The grant is awarded during the master’s degree program. (12 months/18 months or 24 months, depending on the duration of the course).
Each country (India, Indonesia, Russia) receives two grants per year.
Terms and Conditions for University of Groningen Talent Grants
1. Applicants hold a non-EU/EEA passport of their country of origin and therefore need to pay Tuition II.
2. Scholarships will not be awarded to applicants who have already obtained a master’s degree at the University of Groningen or who are participating in other scholarship programs that cover tuition fees and/or living expenses (e.g. Erasmus+/EMA 2/NFP/Erik Bleumink Fund). The Netherlands Scholarship can be applied for together with the Orange Tulip Scholarship.
3. Students receiving the Orange Tulip Scholarship/Talent Bursary must confirm in writing that they agree to the terms and conditions of the bursary.
Selection process:
A selection committee will review applications. Students are selected based on academic merit. Eligibility decisions for awarding scholarships are made in April/May. Students will be notified of their bursary applications as soon as possible.

As the OTS/Talent Grant does not cover the full tuition fees, you should receive additional funding to fully fund your studies.
One of the requirements for obtaining a residence permit in the Netherlands is that students must submit proof that they have sufficient financial means to pay for their studies in the Netherlands. The University of Groningen suggested budget (excluding tuition fees) is approx. €10,000 to €14,000 per year to cover rent, insurance, living expenses, course books and local transport costs. How much students actually spend will of course depend on their lifestyle and spending habits.

Application deadline:
The application deadline is April 1, 2021. Please ensure that you submit your complete scholarship application to the NESO office in your country by this date at the latest. You will also need to apply directly at the university for your chosen master’s program. Your Orange Tulip application will not be considered without a completed master’s program application.
