Jamaica’s Prime Minister Andrew Holness expressed his condolences on social media, saying: “I join every Jamaican in my deepest and most sincere condolences, his beloved mother, Mrs. Jennifer Bolt and the entire Bolt family, passed by their patriarch, Mr. Wellesley Bolt.
“Mr. Bolt is the global idol behind one of Jamaica’s greatest sons and the father of a powerful, quiet power. His presence, support and guidance have helped shape a legacy that continues to inspire the world.”
Wellesley’s wife Jennifer and their three children survived.
