Bayelsa West Senator Henry Seriake Dickson has urged President Bola Tinubu to occupy the local ministers (FCT), Nyesom Wike and Rivers State Governor Sim Fubara to find common ground for the rapid solution.
Naija News Dixon reportedly released a statement via his Facebook page on Friday, April 11, 2025, after meeting with Forbala in the state’s capital, the duo revealed that the duo had discussed extreme political developments in the state over the past few weeks.
The MPs called on all young people in the state, especially those in the Iya country of the Niger Delta, to continue to maintain peace and resist any provocation or incitement of violence.
Dixon also urged young people to avoid violent and destructive tendencies, especially the damage and destruction of strategic oil and gas facilities in the region, noting that such actions could cause further pollution damage to the already damaged environment.
Senators refuted the claim of Ilya National and President Tinob being suspended.
He said “I would like to call on all our people, young people in the River State, especially in the Iya country, young people in the River State and throughout the Niger Delta. The gas infrastructure in the region tends to cause further pollution damage to the environment we have been damaged, reduce the pace of economic development and activity in the region, and create financial challenges for governments across the country, especially at that time when the global economy was suffering from unprecedented instability.
“I urge all stakeholders to place the overall well-being of the River State, its people, the Niger Delta region and the entire country in decision-making, speech and action.
I also urge the sole administrator, himself a highly decorated and respected veteran from the Niger Delta region, who avoids action and helps resolve the crisis quickly and friendly.
“I commend the security forces for maintaining peace in the region and urge them to continue to work with stakeholders and constitute the authorities, even in the River State and throughout the Niger Delta region.
“I call on the President to be competent for stakeholders, especially my brother, FCT Minister and Governor Siminalaye Fubara, to find a common ground between tolerance and accommodation. As I have always said, there is no perfect father and son.
“Despite our imperfections, we must learn to be tolerant and manage each other and always remember the unique relationship they have built over the years, which led to the emergence of the governor. It is always a sacred privilege of the father in order to be tolerated and predecessors for the overall good of all.
“In the case of the President, I would like to point out that the Iya people have not fought with the federal government or the president, and we are leading him with the leaders of the state to solve the problem and to restore normal and democratic rule. I call on all leaders from the state and national levels of the Niger Delta to play an active role at the state and national level to play a role in this issue.
“The Iya State has not fought with the federal government led by the President or the APC. On the contrary, the Niger Delta and the Iya State have always represented a reorganized, truly real federal federal federal in which power is properly transferred, accelerated infrastructure, infrastructure, development of human capital, environmental justice, environmental justice and equity, and he is not a partner on all issues, and we do not have a problem. The enemy, regardless of partisan differences, is as some may portray.”
