    • The user named @funkysguide revealed that her father was kidnapped after she attended a rally at the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA).
    • The situation highlights ongoing concerns about security and kidnappings in the region.

A woman on social media platform X (formerly Twitter) has shared a distressing recording of her father, who is currently being held hostage.

The user identified as @funkysguide explained that her father was kidnapped while returning from a rally at the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA).

In the widely circulated audio, the kidnappers demanded a ransom of five million naira while her father described being tied with a rope since the morning of the incident.

He also revealed that other passengers traveling with him were kidnapped and beaten by the attackers.

During a phone call with one of the kidnappers, the woman mentioned that N700,000 had been collected but the kidnappers reportedly from the Northern region insisted on the full payment of N5 million.

In her post, @funkysguide implored Nigerians to help in securing the release of her father. She wrote:

“As of last night, this is a recorded conversation between my family, my father and the kidnappers. 😄😄😄

Nigerians, please help me. My father came to my rally, but he was kidnapped on the way back. 💔“

The tweet has since gone viral, prompting widespread reactions from social media users calling for urgent intervention by security services.
