Media aides to Senate President Senator Gosville Eseme Eyiboh made it clear that his principal would not interact with the allegations of corruption and sexual abuse by former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.

Naija News Eyiboh was asked to provide the principal’s reaction to Atiku’s comments in a recent media interview, the report said.
Atiku described Akpabio as a corrupt politician and accused him of abuse of women. The allegations were brought up when accepting an unknown story by journalist Adesuwa Giwa-Osagie, Atticu also suggested that the National Assembly’s recognition of the state of emergency in the River State was a result of suspected corruption of its leadership.
Attiku said, “The Senate president is actually known for having that character, even if he is governor.
In response, Eyiboh questioned whether Atiku was the right person to comment on Nigeria’s corruption.
“Is Atiku the right person to discuss corruption in Nigeria from your historical knowledge? So what is his history in terms of corruption? Eyiboh asked.
Eyiboh stressed that Akpabio, as the Senate president and the third highest official in Nigeria, would not lower his debate.
“Anyway, my principal doesn’t want him to discuss this issue. The Senate President will not respond that way. He is the former vice president of Nigeria and we are giving him respect.
“So, no matter what he does, we can’t go to the bin fight or start a debate with him on such a subject.” Eyiboh added
Eyiboh further explained that Akpabio’s status as a third citizen of Nigeria requires him to be fully focused on important national issues and have no time for personal quarrels or debates.
“The President of the Senate is the third man in this country and his main responsibility is to uphold the country’s sovereignty and respect for the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Therefore, he will not be able to go out to the streets with anyone to join the streets.” He came to the conclusion.
