Galatasaray vice president İbrahim Hatipoğlu said the club could convince Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen to stay in the Türkiye championship after this season.
Osimhen joined Galatasaray on loan from Napoli last September and has had a huge impact since then, scoring 29 goals and providing five assists in 33 games in all games.
The 26-year-old striker has a €75 million release clause in his contract and is widely expected to move to Europe’s top clubs this summer.
Despite growing interest in other major clubs, Hatipoğlu insists that Galatasaray is ready to meet all the financial and athletic conditions required to keep Osimhen permanently at the club.
“His words don’t mean he’s leaving,” Hatipolu said in an interview with AS.
“He said Galatasaray was always in his heart even if he left in the worst case. But he didn’t say he was leaving. We want him to be with us.”
Osimhen has previously said he will decide his future at the end of the season.
