36 members of the Lagos State Capitol rejected the return of Mudashiru Obasa, spokesman for the Congress.
The MPs gathered in the General Assembly Garden and maintained their position based on a February 17 vote of confidence in Mojisola Meranda, who chose to replace Obasa.
House Information, Strategy and Security Committee Chairman Stephen Ogundipe, speaking with journalists on behalf of his colleagues, condemned Obasa’s “powerful” entrance into the convention complex and called for peace.
“This is the State Capitol Lagos. We were shocked to see what happened today. We want our leaders to tell us earlier to stay calm and be able to speak to us and tell us where we went wrong or what was really wrong. We don’t take the law into our hands, but we belong to different constituencies and we have our mission.
Whatever happens, leaders should talk to us, not the charm we are witnessing. We are humiliated by this action. I was parked at the door and entered the assembly room. It’s an embarrassment and must be stopped.
We are not opposed to the leaders’ decisions, but they should call us and tell us rather than hear rumors. They are our leaders and we still stand up and follow their decisions.
We completely reject Obasa. ” He declared
The lawmakers also stared: “We generally rejected Obasa.”
