- Nollywood actor, Prince Eke, has commented on the life sentence imposed on IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu.
- Eck believes that this sentence does not represent true justice.
- The ruling was made by Justice James Omotosho of the Federal High Court in Abuja.

Nollywood actor, Prince Eke has weighed in on the life sentence of IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu, saying the sentence does not do real justice.
Kanu was reacting after Judge James Omotosho of the Federal High Court in Abuja found Kanu guilty of all seven charges leveled against him by the federal government. The ruling, which sentenced several people to life in prison with additional years in prison, sparked a nationwide response.
Ek shared his opinion on Instagram on Friday, arguing that the verdict was driven more by political maneuvering than legal reasoning. He claimed the government was positioning 2027 as the “real agenda”.
According to him, “MNK’s life sentence is nothing but political theater. The plan is to release him in 2027 and use this move to secure Igbo votes. This is not justice but manipulation. Nigerians are watching. We see the plan but we will not believe it.”
Eck noted that many citizens are now more politically aware and able to discern when state decisions are influenced by political motivations rather than fairness.
He emphasized that justice must exist independently and must not become a bargaining chip in elections.
His comments added to the growing reaction among celebrities and Nigerians over Kanu’s jailing.
