Minister of Housing and Urban Development Yusuf Ata said the alliance of Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi and Nasir El-Rufai will fail to cancel President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 election.
The ATA dismissed the alliance by issuing a statement in a statement issued by Kano, insisting that the alliance died upon arrival.
The ATA believes that since taking office in 2023, Tinubu has successfully implemented economic and political reforms, thus strengthening public confidence in his government.
He criticized Atiku as a “serial winner”, El-Rufai as a “desperate power seeker”, and Obi as a politician who provided racial and religious divisions.
The minister claims that Tinubu’s leadership has stabilized the country.
“The country has gone beyond the age of trial and wrong governance, rejecting politicians who lack a clear ideology and rely on mere emotions to gain support,” he said. He said.
He believes that intervention in the political crisis of river states is evidence of his governance capacity.
The ATA concluded that the opposition coalition lacked credibility and public support, labeling its members as “political workers” seeking relevance.
Meanwhile, the former director-general of Labour’s presidential campaign committee, Akin Oshuntokun, has sparked the feasibility of a strong opposition alliance with Bola Ahmed Tinubu before the 2027 presidential election.
Speaking on TV on Monday, Osemboyn pointed out the presidential ambitions of major opposition figures, especially the difficulties brought by Peter Obi and Atiku Abubakar.
He pointed out that both politicians who participated in the 2023 election may run for president again in 2027, posing a major challenge in uniting opposition forces.
Oshuntokun explained that Obi received strong support from the young and conceited movement, while Atiku received support from the northern political institutions.
He warned that unless one of them gradually stepped down or changed their political goals, there could be a repetition of 2023 scenarios (opposition division).
To overcome this, Oshuntokun suggested that Obi might need to reconsider his presidential ambitions and focus on building a wider political movement.
He added:Obi is in trouble. He will be with Northern politicians as a vice presidential candidate. But the paradoxical movement strongly opposed the idea because they saw him as the leader of their choice. ”
He admitted asking new candidates to lead the coalition, but emphasized the challenge of uniting the opposition.
“If I were him, I would prioritize building a strong political movement rather than sticking to the president’s bid,He said. Oshuntokun also pointed out that if Obi chooses to run independently again, he may work hard to replicate the momentum of the 2023 election.
Oshuntokun also stressed the importance of northern dissatisfaction to any viable opposition alliance. He argued:If there is any hope that APC will lose, then core opposition must come from the north, as dissatisfaction in the region will significantly undermine Tinubu’s chances. ”
He warned that opposition figures need to show their willingness to abandon personal ambitions for the common goal of removing the ruling party from power.
