Popular Nigerian food and lifestyle vlogger Sisi Yemmie has highlighted the prevailing state of anxiety in Nigeria after a seemingly innocuous incident at a party sparked widespread fear among guests.

Sisi Yemmie (Yemisi Odusanya) shared her observations on X (formerly Twitter), detailing the shocking reactions of attendees when balloons began to explode, a common sound often mistaken for gunshots or explosions in highly insecure situations.

    The video blogger posted:

“I was at a party today and some balloons went up gboaaaa. I saw everyone was so surprised 😢We’re no good!!!”

The tweet quickly struck a chord with her followers, many of whom understand the underlying tension and fear that causes Nigerians to panic in reaction to sudden loud noises.
