When Mack Trucks collided on Eko Bridge, 20-foot container falls and crushed two dispatch riders D3ATH

On May 11, two fully loaded Mack trucks involved in two fully loaded Mack bridges were killed after two dispatched personnel crashed on Sunday, May 11 on Eko Bridge Alaka in Lagos.

Adebayo Taofiq, spokesman for the Transportation Administration of Lagos State (Lastma), in a statement The preliminary findings suggest that the driver of an articulated truck was reportedly driving at a high speed, allegedly traversing, losing control of the vehicle.

He said the truck then moved into another moving truck, causing a violent impact.

According to Taofiq, the catastrophic collision caused a 20-foot container in a truck to fall off and later crush two unsuspecting dispatch riders. Two victims confirmed D3AD on site

According to Taofiq, vehicle registration numbers T-10357 LA and KJA 107 XM commuted on and off on the axle when the accident occurred.

“Preliminary findings indicate that the driver of one of the articulated trucks was said to have lost control of the vehicle while driving at an excessive speed while allegedly striking a dodge,” the statement said.

“The truck then filmed another mobile truck that was moving forward, causing a violent impact.

“The collision caused a 20-foot container to fall off in a truck, and then the two unsuspecting dispatchers squeezed the unsuspecting dispatchers who were sailing on the route at the time.

“Both victims confirmed D3AD at the scene.”

Taofiq said Lastma officials who monitored traffic under the Eko bridge quickly responded to the incident and rescued an injured truck driver.

He said the driver was taken to a hospital near the Lagos State Government ambulance for immediate medical services.

The spokesman noted that the two truck drivers fled the scene, which may be due to concerns about the consequences and that investigations are being conducted to track and arrest them.

He said the affected areas had been blocked by Lastma and were redirected through the Coast Roundabout to prevent further incidents and ensure road safety.

Lastma’s general manager Bakare-Oki pays respect to the families affected by the tragic incident and expresses deep sorrow for the loss of life.

He also stressed the importance of responsible driving, especially for clear vehicle operators, and urged all drivers to act cautiously, be alert and ensure that their vehicles are driving the vehicle before any journey.
