Many Chelsea supporters have been questioning the omissions of the club’s 2025 FIFA Club World Cup province Djordje Petrovic.
The telegram confirmed in a scoop on its website on Wednesday, June 11, 2025 that the Serbian decided to be excluded from the Chelsea squad. According to the report, Djordje Petrovic is not part of the team heading to the United States because he requested to be excluded.
Petrovic wants to guarantee he will get his first shirt at Chelsea before Robert Sanchez, and he is sure he won’t get it. The 25-year-old was impressed with his loan to move to Strasbourg and he was not interested in anyone at the club.
Why did Chelsea leave the club’s World Cup team’s Dijod Petrovic?
Strasbourg is interested in permanently signing his Premier League club to assess a move, and both sides agree that Petrovic will be best served to address his future rather than heading to the United States. Chelsea would have included Petrovic in their club World Cup team if he didn’t ask to be excluded regardless of their attempt to sign Mike Manian from AC Milan.
The Blues are willing to pay £12.7 million to sign Maignan, who has one year left to contract and refuses to write a new deal at the club’s World Cup.
AC Milan asks Chelsea to pay Mike Maignan?
The Serie A giants asked the Blues to pay £25 million for the French International Team.
However, Chelsea is now focusing on Robert Sanchez, Filip Jorgensen and Mike Penders, all of whom are included in the club World Cup.
