Former President Olusegun Obasanjo recalls firing his daughter from the farm due to his late arrival.
Naija News Obasancho is reportedly chairing the new board of directors of the Federal Medical Center Management Committee (FMC), Idi-Aba, Abeokuta, Dayo Ogun State.
Obasanjo explained that the fired daughter sent a strong message to other employees, saying, “If Baba could do this to his daughter, who are we?”
The former president advised the Israeli doctor to prepare for his own challenges and willing to take risks when necessary to ensure a successful term, and stressed that no effective leader can succeed without risk.
He said “Short after I left the head of state in the office, my first daughter studied veterinary medicine at the University of Ibadan and joined my farm during her long vacation. On her first day, she was at 7:15 am Arrived, not the usual 7:00 AM, I warned her that it is necessary to set a good example for other workers.
“To my surprise, she was late the next day. I sent her back from the gate without hesitation. It had a big impact on my staff, who said, “If Baba could do this to his daughter, if Baba could do it to his daughter. One thing, who are we? ”
Obasanjo further encourages the Israeli Doctor to be just, fair and humane, even if stepping on people’s toes is necessary.
