He stressed that Seyi’s invitation to dinner at his residence was not out of a desire for political recognition of his father’s presidency, but rather from an appreciation of his musical talent.
The rapper made these remarks in the latest episode of the Afrobeats podcast hosted by AdeSope.
He said: “Rema is my friend. Seyi Tinubu is my friend. Whether my father is the president, people throw stones at him, he is my friend. When he invited me to have supper at home, he did not support him. Father did. He did it because he loved my music. I was a street boy. Seyi didn’t get anything from me. He was my friend. Forgot what society was saying.
“The same is true for Rema. Why don’t I go to Famz Rema? Who do I want to go? Adele? Speed Darlington? Akpi is not my friend. Burna Boy is my spiritual animal and Skepta. In my encounter with Bob Before Na Boy, I saw him in my dream and we were taking yam. Burna Boy told me that the day I saw him was the first time he had taken yam in two years. This wasn’t a joke. They thought I was just a hat . They think I talk about Jesus because I am a fanatic. I am a big fan of Jesus. Anything I say, as long as it is consistent with God’s will, I will be bound on earth and heaven.”
