Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy Olatunbosun Tijani described President Bola Tinubu as a leader who can address the country’s multifaceted challenges.
Tijani spoke with journalists on Monday at the inauguration of the Abeokuta Solar Community ICT Center promoted by the National Information Technology Development Agency.
He claimed that his criticism of political leaders, including President Bra Tinub, was born out of a desire for better Nigeria.
The minister said his decision to serve in Tinubu was driven by his belief in the presidential leadership.
Tyani said:This has nothing to do with intention, because leadership is related to intention.
“When you get close to President Bola Tinubu, you know that Nigeria is lucky to have someone like him. Let’s put politics aside and examine the trajectory of his government.
“This is the first president to make education easier for every young Nigerian through student loan programs.
“It’s also the president’s cancellation of fuel subsidies, a long-term burden on Nigerians, and is now redirecting these resources to national development.
“He has greatly reduced the country’s debt service obligations, thus freeing up funds for key projects.
“So it’s not hard for me to work under such a person. I don’t criticize the government of the past because I’m a politician, but because I want a better society. And, there’s no better way to work with him than President Bola Tinubu.”
Tijani’s remarks came as Senate President Godswill Akpabio commemorated Tinubu’s 73rd birthday in Abuja President’s Villa during a special Eid festival in Abuja Presidential Villa, recalling that the minister’s nomination was strongly boycotted due to his previous criticism of the government.
