Former military head of state, General RTD Yakubu Gowon, said he was pleased to witness the career and political career of his colleague General Ibrahim Babajda.
Gowon, in the book’s introduction, wrote by Ibrahim Babangida and released on Friday in Abuja, revealed that he almost made Babangida his Assistant de -de-camp (ADC).
He described Babangida’s tenure as the most outstanding in the military leader’s lineup, adding that he was so impressed by his ingenuity that he thought made him an ADC.
Gao En wrote: “At some point, I was so impressed by his ingenuity and excellent professionalism that he almost became my assistant,
“This story belongs elsewhere and I will leave him to tell it so that it is not the benefit of others who are close to our profession.
“I can proudly assert that General Babajda is arguably one of the most outstanding officers in this country.
Ibrahim is destined to be great. This is not surprising when God is elevated to the political leadership summit in the age of military domination in our country.
“In the post-war period, the most compelling tenure of his military leaders’ lineup that my country witnessed was easy to be. I say this, for many reasons, without ambiguity.
“Unlike some of us, he tried to be the best of two opposing worlds. He tried to be the best officer and gentleman in the tradition.
“At the same time, he has unusual political maturity and savvy, which allows him to freely drive the complex political world without losing command and control over the military institutions.”
