Controversial Nigerian singer Habeeb Olalomi Okikiola (aka Portable) was sentenced to three months in prison.
Portable was sentenced by Ogun State’s Chief Magistrate Judge Babajide Ilo.
In April 2023, the singer filed a lawsuit in the IFO’s district court on three charges of assault and theft of musical instruments, as stated in his charge number MIF/192C/2023.
The singer was later released on bail of 300,000 yuan, and his immediate family had two guarantors.
He was reportedly in court last Thursday and was later remanded in custody after failing to attend a previous hearing due to multiple recessions.
Police Prosecutor Inspector Olumide Awoleke had earlier informed the court that the defendant Habeeb Okikiola committed the crime at 11:00 a.m. on November 18, 2022 at Ilogbo in the IFO Magisterial area.
The magistrate who found Portable guilty of 1 and 2 counts of ILO was sentenced to one month in prison and chose a fine of 1 and 2 months in prison and chose a fine of 20,000.
